2 Clayoquot Sound salmon farms hit by toxic algae

A type of toxic algae is killing off farmed salmon in a section of Clayoquot Sound on the west coast of Vancouver Island. The Millar Channel and Ross Passage salmon farms, operated by the company Cermaq, have been affected by the harmful bloom over the past three weeks. FRK and Friends Celebrate the Launch of Wild Salmon Recipes

On Wednesday, October 7th, Fraser Riverkeeper and friends celebrated the launch of the new Wild Salmon Recipes website with an art party at 4Cats Art Studio in Steveston, BC. The talented team at 4Cats treated FRK and our guests to a lesson in traditional art of Japanese gyotaku fish printing, all while we enjoyed  some delicious wild salmon hors d'oeuvres prepared by Chef Nayana Sunderam.
